Relationship Expert Guy Blews on GUILT:

GUILT holds us back.

GUILT is a terrible thing.

GUILT is built on dishonesty.

If you are riddled with GUILT then you probably did something wrong.

If you live with a feeling of GUILT then you are punishing yourself.

If you offload your GUILT on other people then you are a dunce.

If you want to get over GUILT, then you have to be honest with yourself.

Honest about the reasons you feel GUILTY.

If you feel GUILTY because you did something wrong, then learn from the mistake, don’t do it again and move on.

If you feel GUILTY because you don’t want to do something you think you should, then grow up – work out whether you are being GUILTED into it, and if you are then man up / woman up and stand up for yourself, be honest with yourself and then be honest with the person who is GUILTING you into doing something you do not want to do.

GUILT is based on dishonesty – either dishonesty with yourself or dishonesty towards others.

If GUILT is effecting your life then you need to be more honest with yourself.

Only then will you overcome the GUILT.

That may mean that you do not build relationships on false premises or promises, that you do not do things you do not want to do, that you learn to control yourself, that you speak up, that you communicate honestly to yourself and to others, that you step back and objectively view the entire situation, that you look at who you really are and who you surround yourself with.

We are all, at some stage, bound to feel GUILT, it is simply how we deal with it that matters.

My advice – work out why and then work through it.
